Psychotherapy: Process and Treatment

Welcome

I’m a licensed clinical psychologist in private practice, specializing in psychodynamic psychotherapy. My work focuses on unconscious processes—such as desires, thoughts, emotions, beliefs, and actions—that can constrain and limit patients’ lives. Through dialogue, we collaboratively identify and address conflictual points and problematic issues affecting their daily lives across emotional, cognitive, and behavioural dimensions. This initial step is crucial for understanding how these conflicts and problems may obstruct one’s ability to enjoy life, form relationships, work effectively, and engage in creative activities.

Conflicts may originate internally, while problematic issues can have external sources. Both internal conflicts and relational issues are explored empathetically during the treatment process. This involves attentive listening, identifying sources of anxiety, recognizing patterns of symptomatic repetition, and addressing inhibitions related to desire.

I offer individual psychotherapy for both English and Spanish-speaking individuals, available in two modalities:

  • In-Person Therapy:

Conducted at my office in the Recoleta neighborhood of Buenos Aires.

  • Online Therapy:

Through various teletherapy platforms, which has broadened my practice to include patients from different countries around the world.

Most of my work is oriented toward adults from various regions. I see patients primarily from America and Europe through online sessions. Additionally, I work with expatriates living in Buenos Aires. The global work dynamics and the increase in international exchange programs have led to a greater demand for psychotherapy services among people from diverse cultures residing in Buenos Aires. Expatriates may face adaptation issues as they adjust to a new culture. Addressing the emotions, thoughts, and feelings associated with living abroad can enhance their overall experience and adjustment to life in a new environment.

These are some of the most frequent reasons of consultation:

  • Anxiety: Addressing various forms of anxiety.
  • Depression: Managing mood problems and mood disorders.
  • Stress: Finding strategies to cope with and reduce stress.
